CAMPGROUND FACILITIES

GENERAL STORE
Serving Allpress Coffee daily.  We have a variety of basic groceries, snacks, ICE, ice creams, and refreshments available.  The Store hours are seasonal and will be displayed on the door.  If we don't have what you need take a 15 min drive south to Whangamata town where you will find a supermarket, ATM's, gas stations, retail shops, cafes, takeaways & restaurants.  Sit back and enjoy your morning coffee whilst the little ones entertain themselves with our small selection of toys, small bikes or scooters.

KITCHEN, BARBECUES & DINING
Each kitchen is equipped with dish washing sinks and gas cook tops. Fridges, freezers, microwaves, toasters and a kettle to boil drinking water.  The water from the taps is from an underground bore and we strongly recommend you refrain from drinking.  The barbecue areas have gas bbqs available at no charge.  Covered dining area outside both kitchens have picnic tables and shelter.

DRINKING QUALITY WATER
Drinking quality water is tested regularly and is available in two locations; outside the upper campground kitchen and outside the general store building as indicated on the map. We strongly recommend that you refrain from drinking any other tap water. While the camp water supplies should be adequate, water is a precious comodity. Please conserve water whenever possible.

TOILETS AND SHOWERS
Showers are located in the upper and lower camp ablution blocks. There is no charge for cold showers, hot showers are $1 coin for 5 minutes.  Bathrooms have liquid hand soap, toilet paper and flush toilets.

LAUNDRY
A laundry is located in both ablution blocks with coin operated washing machines and driers. Laundry powder and coins are available from reception. The washing machine & drier take 2x $2 coin ($4 total per wash/dry).

FISH FILLETING BAY
Located just before the bridge area.  Refer to the campground map.

WASTE WATER DUMP STATION
Available for both grey and black water.  Located on the lower campground as indicated on the map.

 

RECYCLING AND GENERAL WASTE DEPOT
Bins are located on the upper and lower campground and within each facility block.  Please take time to recycle anything you can into the appropriate bins.  Rubbish should be squashed down with any leftover food wrapped and placed into the bins provided.  The commingle recycling bins are for cans, steel, aluminium, paper, cardboard (flattened), newspapers, magazines, plastic containers / bottles only!  Glass can be recycled by colour into the seperate bins provided.  Any excessive dumping will incur extra fees.  Please ask first.

 

CHILLOUT ROOM
The chillout room is located in the upper campground and has couches, book exchange, a table tennis table, foosball and a small TV with DVD player. Perfect for those rainy days.

CHILLOUT LAWN
A reserved grass area located on the  upper campground is available for games and picnics.   Forgot to bring your own games?  No problems - burrow a free pétanque set from the camp store / reception.
